Serbia has moved up for 7 positions, from 54th to 47th, on the World’s Bank Doing Business list for 2017. The greatest progress was made in the field of Construction permits, by as much as 117 positions.
The progress was also made in the Paying taxes, where Serbia moved up from 98th to 78th position.
The report on business conditions covers eleven areas in which procedures to be taken, time and costs are monitored:
- starting a business
- construction permits,
- getting electricity,
- registering property,
- getting credit,
- protecting minority investors,
- paying taxes,
- trading across borders,
- enforcing contracts,
- resolving insolvency and
- labor law.
Serbia has made progress in six areas - starting a business, issuing construction permits, paying taxes, trading across borders, registering property and resolving insolvency.
